I landed my first magazine design gigs at shelter books. I have always loved the architectural design world and found it again when I worked at Starbucks. These were great places to cut my teeth as an editorial designer. The subject matter was exalted, and the design was naturally expected to be precise, so I honed my print production, composition, and typography skills. I also realized I had my own editorial chops and suggested, researched, and wrote some articles.
